Nesting

Nesting

Spent the weekend at home so I’m back on my routine of doodling at the local Brooklyn diners. We’ve had some flash storms over the past couple of days. With all the puddles surrounding the neighborhood, the birds have been in a fine mood, splashing and playing in the water. The world is their birdbath. Here’s my version of a birdie! Enjoy!

  1. First off I would like to say excellent blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask
if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your mind prior to writing. I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first
10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying
to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
    Kudos!

    1. First, thank you! Secondly, I think free writing in a journal daily helps with the ease and flow of writing. My focus tends to be on the drawing. I compare the style with other art movements or specific art movements, memories the image conjures or write about the circumstances of my immediate surroundings when I drew it. Sometimes I’ll look for a quote that captures the mood of either the drawing or the circumstances surrounding when I drew it. Hope that helps.

    1. Thank you! I googled it and was fascinated by how people ‘invent’ traffic. I’m not really selling anything so, I’m just happy that my blog people follow because they searched for doodles or something. Maybe I’ll experiment and try it out one day, just to see what happens. Thank you for the suggestion.
